Fresh Hair After The Gym
If you like to squeeze a workout in right before work or on your lunch break, and you’re anything like us, you’ve likely been faced with the issue of how to make your sweaty hair presentable as quickly and easily as possible. Good news, we’ve done the research and testing for you, read on for tips on how to go from sweaty to fabulous in minutes!
Step 1: Dry shampoo. Our not-so-secret weapon works, we promise. Create random parts along your scalp and sprinkle (or spray, depending on your brand of choice) the powder on, rub it in lightly and then…
Step 2: Blow dry your sweaty hair + dry shampoo combo. [Yes, blow-dry it, no washing; just dry the good ol' sweat in there.]
Step 3: Add a little curl or straighten, whatever your usual style is and proceed to strut out of the studio waving your hair around like you’re in Pantene commercial.
No washing, no full blow-dry, no full style.
"Just dry shampoo, a quick dry, brief style tweak and go."
We’ve used the brands below; it really comes down to personal preference, what you need your product to do and hair color. For example, if you’re not great at blending or are new to dry shampoo, try a spray. If you need a little volume boost, select the one that has volumizing properties.
Dry Bar Detox – two kinds, regular or for brunettes.
Oscar Blondi Dry Shampoo (invisible spray or volumizing spray) – the smell is amazing and it doesn’t leave any residue.
Bumble & Bumble Black Hair Powder – great for dark hair.
‘Pret-A-Powder’ – good for both light and dark hair, it blends easily and adds volume.
*A quick note about usage, dry shampoo works great at keeping oiliness at bay between washes but using it too often without washing can cause built-up residue. Try to use it only once or twice between washes so your scalp has a chance to breathe.
