So what exactly is HIGH Fitness?

It’s a hardcore, fun fitness class that incorporates interval training with music you love and intense easy to follow fitness choreography. It combines FUN (pop songs of old and new that everyone knows and loves) with INTENSITY (interval, plyometrics and cardio) with CONSISTENCY (each song has specific simple moves taught the same by all instructors). Together they make a recipe for success! HIGH Fitness produces high caloric burn and full-body toning through its carefully formulated choreography that alternates between intense cardio peaks and toning tracks.  There’s no better way to describe it than “Body Sculpting Fun”!

HIGH Fitness came to be when friends and fitness instructors Amber Zenith and Emily Nelson decided there was a need for a class that was not only fun but intense as well. After taking and teaching hundreds of classes between them, they realized there was a missing niche in the industry.  Classes were either super intense and easy to follow or super fun and very choreographed, but never both. They decided to create a hardcore fun fitness class and share the result with the world.  With the support of their husbands and a big leap of faith they began their own brand and classes.  They instantly gained a huge following and lots of success, and with that High Fitness was born. We got the inside scoop on their workout routines, style, fuel and recovery and we couldn’t wait to share!

You are both incredibly fit, how many days a week/per day do you workout or teach?

We workout or teach 6 days a week!  When you love it as much as we do its hard to take even one day of rest! Teaching is our fun time, as moms and entrepreneurs getting out and having a blast with our participants is the easiest part of what we do.

Being heavily involved in fitness as part of your lifestyle and job, what does taking an "off day" mean to you, and how often do you take one?

Taking a day off for us would be unwinding in all aspects of life, going for a walk or playing tennis with our families.  We are away so much, teaching and doing trainings, that literally staying in our jammies hanging with our families is our favourite.

What do you wear to workout?

HIGH is intense and gets you drenched in sweat so we are shorts and tank girls all day everyday!  We love to make our outfits fun with bright and colorful patterns. Accessories like headbands, sweatbands, trucker hats and socks are a must!

What do you eat pre-workout and how do you refuel after a workout?

When it comes to HIGH if you eat too much you pay for it so we like to keep it simple and light.  We love G2G bars which are mostly nut butter and protein or an apple and slice of cheese.  After class it’s all about protein and rehydration, we are addicted to @juicebecause for a post workout treat, ‘Judy’ in particular is one of our favs. It’s cleansing, hydrating and refreshing.

Let's talk post-workout soreness; do you have an tips for a quick recovery?

The foam roller is a girl’s best friend and worst enemy because it hurts so good. Roll it out then throw some doTerra "Deep Blue" on and you are good to go!

Tell us about one of your most inspirational moments since starting HIGH Fitness:

There have been so many amazing moments on this journey. We literally started with passion as our driving force and that is still what keeps us going. Our first "wow" moment was accomplishing our first instructor training. The energy was magical and that first graduating class was so passionate and believed in us so much. We finished the training and looked at each other welling up in tears with this feeling that we really have something. Recently a big event in UT took our breath away, we were on a stage and got to look out to a sea of people, wearing HIGH Fitness tanks, smiling and sweating like crazy. We had to hold back from bursting into tears. The smiles and energy were all there because we decided to go after our passion and make it a reality. That first graduating class was in the crowd leading and pumping up others, it was an incredible feeling knowing how far we had come.
