About Dharma Bums
Through her long career in retail fashion, Debbie Lawson was a witness to the unethical manufacturing practises of modern clothing. Lawson was also a passionate practiser and teacher of yoga and struggled to find ethically-made pieces to wear to her classes – items that she could buy with a clear conscience. So, Lawson co-founded Dharma Bums in 2013 as a versatile, stylish yoga and activewear brand made under fair working conditions in the company’s home base of Australia.
Fabrics and designs
You’ll love the fit and feel of Dharma Bums’ high performance fabrics. Plenty of Spandex delivers a four-way stretch that keeps up with your every movement. Plus, natural moisture-wicking properties help to wick sweat away from the skin, keeping you dry and comfortable. We love the bright and fun prints that adorn Dharma Bums yoga leggings while their sports bras are designed with modern strappy detailing and mesh inserts.
Dharma Bums does tend to fit a bit smaller – especially in their leggings – so we recommend going up a size for the best fit. Our may also help you to determine the best size option.
How we wear our Dharma Bums favourites
We love how the higher waist option on Dharma Bums yoga leggings delivers a firmer hold that looks great on a variety of body shapes and sizes. Flat lock seams and a lined gusset are designed with comfort in mind so that you can finally master that Tree Pose without worrying about fit and feel. The fun prints of their leggings are perfect for commanding street-ready style out of the studio, so all it takes is a solid top or pullover to complete our laid-back look.
Why buy Dharma Bums?
Dharma Bums is one of the few yoga brands we’ve come across that has an entire page on their website dedicated to their company’s ethics in building relationships as well as supporting the community and environment. Everyone involved in producing Dharma Bums products is treated with respect and receives a fair pay in safe and clean working conditions. Design, printing and manufacturing all happens in Australia at the Dharma Bums headquarters or their small, family-run facility nearby.
